WILMINGTON, Del.—April 8, 2008—On Wednesday, April 16, 2008, eBillme, the payment provider that brings online banking to the eCommerce checkout, will team up with JupiterResearch to present a webinar entitled, ‘How to Convert Hesitant Shoppers into Confident Buyers.’

The Webinar, presented by Ed Kountz, senior analyst for JupiterResearch, and eBillme, is a follow-up to the recent study conducted by JupiterResearch for eBillme which evaluated consumers’ considerations when selecting a payment method online and examined potential opportunities for online merchants to convert these hesitant shoppers into confident buyers.

The results uncovered interesting insights into consumers’ online shopping behavior indicating that buyer protection is far more important than purchase rewards, which is one of the least important factors for consumers choosing an online payment option. Additionally, the study found that 68% of credit card users and 65% of debit card users are unaware of their liability coverage should their card or financial information be lost or stolen which leads to hesitation at the checkout and affects merchant sales.

“This is a must-attend event for all online merchants to better understand consumer preferences and behavior at the online checkout and discover what features would make shoppers more confident to spend,” says Carol Ann Korpi, Vice President of Sales for eBillme. “The current economic conditions are causing many online retailers to look for new ways to attract consumers to the online checkout. The goal of our webinar is to provide participants with new solutions to improve consumer confidence, build customer loyalty, and increase sales.”

The webinar will be hosted on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 1PM EST. A white paper discussing the study and findings will be made available following the webinar. To register, please visit https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/403107425.
