WILMINGTON, De. - June 7, 2007 pcRUSH.com, a leading electronics retailer, announced today that their decision to offer customers a way to shop online or by phone—without using credit cards or disclosing sensitive financial information—has resulted in a dramatic 40 percent increase in average order value over credit cards. In addition, pcRUSH experienced a 60 percent reduction in transaction costs due to eBillme’s low transaction fees. eBillme, formerly named SECURE-eBill, the flagship product of payment provider MODASolutions, leverages the security and convenience of online banking to make Web shopping available to customers who prefer not to use traditional online credit options.
eBillme has been available to pcRUSH customers as a checkout payment option since May 2007. The technology took only 37 days to implement into the online checkout platform before the retailer was able to begin accepting transactions.
The eBillme process is fast and easy to use: online shoppers simply select eBillme at checkout, while customers paying by phone request eBillme when completing their orders. An eBill, or electronic invoice, is e-mailed to the customer confirming the purchase, and provides instructions on how to pay for the eBill through online banking. Consumers then login to their banks’ web site, and pay the invoice through available funds in their checking or savings account. No financial data is exposed over the Internet or the phone, and the payment transaction is securely transferred from the customer’s bank to the retailer’s bank.
“pcRUSH is committed to providing the latest products at the most reasonable prices and offering our customers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction,” says Mark Crary, Director of Marketing at pcRUSH.com. “Adding eBillme to our checkout payment platform furthers our customer commitment by offering shoppers a safe and convenient new way to shop online and in our call centers. It has allowed us to reach new customers and increase revenue by offering an option that appeals to consumers without a credit card, those who are security conscious, and those who use online banking to pay bills. It has also provided significant cost savings with the company’s low transaction rates. It is a winning solution for our business and our customers."
pcRUSH.com was established in 1998 to sell electronics online to a full spectrum of consumers and businesses. Now, a leading online retailer, they carry over 20,000 products online including laptops, digital cameras, GPS systems, HDTVs, printers, and more.
As an introductory offer, pcRUSH.com will offer customers who pay with eBillme a free 1GB USB. This offer is valid until July 31, 2007.
We are thrilled that pcRUSH is already seeing results since offering eBillme to their online and call center customers,” says Marwan Forzley, President and CEO of MODASolutions. “As a company committed to offering customers the highest level of service and value, pcRUSH recognizes the need for a secure payment alternative that allows consumers to better manage their finances and protect their financial information. eBillme will allow them to further tap into the growing segment of consumers who pay bills online, thus increasing their sales potential.”
