Here are a few more tips to help you find the best low priced deals for Thanksgiving,
Black Friday, and
Cyber Monday 2011.
Black Friday Tips 7-10
Tip #7: The Early Bird Gets the Worm
Black Friday sales reward the shopper who comes out early. Firstly, there won’t be an unlimited amount of stock on all door crasher items. Secondly, some
Black Friday deals will be time sensitive i.e. they will only be available within a set time limit, like between 9 a.m. when the store opens and 10 a.m. when the deal ends. In this case, some die-hards have even been known to find their item, and hold onto it until the sale time comes around!
Tip #8: Dress Comfortably
Most other shopping days can be treated like informal fashion shows, but Black Friday is not the place for stiletto heels. Comfortable shoes, preferably ones you can picture yourself running in if you see someone nab one of the last iPads or Zhu Zhu Pets.
Wear comfortable and practical clothing. If you plan to come early take into account the fact that it will be colder in the morning and you may have to stand in line, so dress appropriately.
Finally, if you have long hair, tie it up in a ponytail or just plain shave it off: you don’t want anyone grabbing it and throttling you if a fight breaks out - just kidding about that last one (or am I?)!
Tip #9: Bring Along Physical Evidence
If you found out about a particular sale in a flyer, take the flyer with you. In all the confusion surrounding the preparations for the
Black Friday specials, someone may have overlooked changing the price of one or two items in the computer. If you bring along the flyer as proof that your item should have been marked down, you’ll avoid headaches at the checkout.
Tip #10: Make Friends
If you’re standing in line before the store opens, or waiting in line to pay for your purchase, make friends with the people around you. It helps to have a buddy (especially in line) because if you need to leave the line to go to the bathroom, they’ll probably let you back in.
Try to be on your best behavior even if it's pandemonium around you. Remember that everyone is there for the same reason: to find a great Black Friday deal, and save money. So play fair with everyone and they’ll be more likely to play fair with you.
