
Though Sears has been delivering home appliances and other goods to consumers' homes for years, the retailer recently launched a new branch of their MyGofer
online shopping. portal that includes groceries, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The new service will offer food, perscriptions,
electronics.. and other goods to customers in the Chicago area, and more locations are to be added later this summer. The company launched the MyGofer service last year, which currently allows shoppers to search through tens of thousands of online products, place orders on their computer or iPhone, and then pick them up at a nearby retail store, reports the news provider.
"Customers are looking for instant gratification. They want it today. They want it now," said Sears senior vice president for e-commerce, Imran Jooma. He also said that the MyGofer service will offer more delivery workers as part of its expansion.
