
A man from Norcross, George was sentenced to six years in prison on Thursday after he was found guilty of stealing 400,000 credit card numbers between the months of August 2008 and November of 2009, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The accused man, Guled Abdullahi Mohamed, used the stolen credit cards throughout metro Atlanta at stores such as Home Depot and Lowe's. He and his accomplice were both ordered to pay $136,978 in restitution fees.
The accomplice, named Cleveland Walker, was Mohamed's middle-man, selling approximately 100 stolen credit card account profiles, according to the news source. He was sentenced to a year and a half of prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Mohamed was arrested during an undercover sting. Authorities confiscated a thumb drive from his home that contained sensitive data, including the stolen credit card numbers and the actual card holders' names and addresses.
