Shopping for clothing online can help one
save money .from the comfort of their own home. Making purchases via the internet allows one to compare prices simply and quickly by clicking between two or more websites that offer the same products.
One challenge for many online consumers, however, is knowing how to purchase a clothing item without being certain how it will look. Fortunately, a new robotic mannequin known as Fits.me may soon be able to help shoppers overcome this obstacle, according to Gizmag.com.
To use the new Fits.me, shoppers enter their measurement into an online form on a company's website. This information would be sent to the mannequin, which is comprised of electronic plates that can adjust to mimic a person's body type.
The shopper would then see an image of the mannequin modeling the particular clothing item they are considering purchasing. If the consumer wanted the shirt to fit more snugly or loosely, they would simply have to adjust the size of the clothing, the news source reports.
When shopping for clothing online, it's important to protect personal information, as there were 9.9 million cases of identity theft in 2008. Some may choose to use a secure payment company to guard sensitive data.
