Black Friday and
Cyber Monday., two of the biggest shopping days of the year, are only a few weeks away. There are many ways that consumers can save online this holiday season, according to the Detroit Free Press.
"There are tons of incentives over the holidays for
online shopping., from free shipping to discounted items," Hillary Mendelsohn, who has authored eight different books about Internet shopping, told the news source.
She suggests using Google as a base resource for finding deals. Typing in the exact name, product code or manufacturer number will help you find the exact item you want, and will give you an idea of what prices are available on the web.
Though coupons can be a great resource for savvy Internet spenders, Mendelsohn warns that some coupons may be false leads, intended to draw consumers to a specific site.
For shoppers who have preferred websites, Mendelson advocates joining their mailing list. Often, newsletters and mass emails will alert consumers to new offers and deals online.
The Federal Trade Commission recommends that shoppers who want to save online comparison shop, and be sure to investigate a company's return policies before making any major purchases.
