According to Reuters, many retailers who experienced strong sales over the Thanksgiving weekend are hoping to entice even more shoppers online today. Some stores who offered deals early have already seen success.
According to the news source, the analytics firm ComScore reported that online spending on Thanksgiving Day rose to $407 million, a 27 percent increase from 2009. The National Retail Federation (NRF) predicted that 90 percent of stores would be offering deals this year on
Cyber Monday..
The NRF also states that approximately 33.6 percent of people who went shopping during the four-day holiday weekend purchased some of their goods online. On average, consumers spent $365.34 on purchases during the weekend, $121.67 of which was spent online.
Competition is the name of the game for many retailers, some of whom are offering similar deals in an effort to entice shoppers to their digital storefronts. Those who plan on finding deals online for gifts today might consider shopping around.
