CVV or Card Verification Value refers to the security code on your credit or debit card. Sometimes it’s called a CVV2 or CVC2 (Card Validation Code). It is a 3 or 4 digit security code that is often needed when online shopping. Merchants and online retailers use this code to make sure that you have the credit or debit card in your possession when they can’t verify your signature. So to get a CVV, just flip over your credit or debit card and locate the extra 3 or 4 digit number on the back of the card.
